Website Design

They found you. Now the site has to close.

Ranking brings the visit. What happens in the next ten seconds decides whether it becomes a call. We build fast, mobile first law firm websites with clear practice area pages, calls to action people actually use, and the technical structure search engines expect.

A website that works as hard as your intake team.

Law firm website design is the planning, design and build of a site whose job is to turn a search into a consultation: fast on a phone, organized by practice area, and structured so search engines and AI assistants understand what the firm does and where.

We design every site around the cases you want more of. Each practice area gets its own page, the phone number and the consultation form stay within reach on every screen, and the technical groundwork, from page speed to structured data, is in place before launch instead of patched on afterwards.

It is built by the same team that runs law firm SEO and paid search, so the site is designed for the traffic it will actually receive, not just for the day it goes live.

Most law firm websites were built to be looked at, not used.

Does your site bring in consultations, or does it just sit there looking respectable?

Plenty of firm sites were designed to impress a partner in a pitch meeting: a big photo, a slogan, a gavel. Then a real person arrives from a search, on a phone, in a hurry, and has to hunt for the phone number, scroll past the firm’s history and guess which page covers their problem.

Behind the surface it is usually worse. One page trying to rank for every practice area, a template shared with hundreds of other businesses, images that take seconds to appear on a mobile connection, and a form that lands in an inbox nobody checks.

We build the site from the visitor’s side of the screen: what they searched, what they need to see first, and how few taps it takes to reach your intake team.

What goes into every site we build.

The design changes from firm to firm. These five things do not, because they are what decides whether a visit turns into a consultation.

Custom design, no templates

Designed around your firm, your practice areas and the clients you want, not a theme bought for any business. Your site does not look like the firm across the street.

Mobile first and fast loading

Designed for the phone first, where many people search for a lawyer, then scaled up. Pages are built lean so they load quickly on a mobile connection.

Practice area page structure

A dedicated page for each practice area and the cities you serve, so each one can rank for its own searches instead of sharing a single services page.

Calls to action people use

Click to call, consultation forms and a clear next step on every page, placed where a person in a hurry actually looks.

Technical SEO foundation

Clean URLs, structured data, an XML sitemap, internal linking and Core Web Vitals checked before launch, so the site is ready for search from the first day.

What a build costs depends on the size of the site, not on the city, and you can see the full pricing. The site runs alongside our law firm SEO services from the same strategy and the same reporting.

The anatomy of a practice area page that converts.

This is the page most of your visitors land on, not the home page. Here is what we put on it, and why each piece is there.

  1. A headline that matches the search

Someone who typed "car accident lawyer in Wilmington" should see those words at the top, not a slogan.

  2. The phone number, always in reach

In the header on a desktop, and in a bar that follows the thumb on a phone.

  3. Proof next to the decision

Reviews and credentials placed beside the call to action, where doubt shows up.

  4. Answers before the questions

What happens after the first call, what to bring and how the consultation works.

  5. Links to the next relevant page

Related practice areas and locations, so visitors and Google both find the rest of the site.

  6. Structured data underneath

Markup that tells search engines this is a law firm, what it practices and where.

Built for the phone in your client’s hand.

Someone searching for a lawyer after an accident, an arrest or a letter from the other side is rarely sitting at a desk. We design that moment first and scale up from there.

Calls to action within thumb reach

Call and consultation buttons sit where a thumb lands, and stay there as the page scrolls.

Text you can read without zooming

Type sizes, spacing and contrast chosen for a small screen in daylight.

Forms that ask only what intake needs

Fewer fields, the right keyboard for each one, and no dead end after submit.

Images sized for the device

Each screen downloads the image it needs, not the desktop version squeezed down.

Practice areas one tap away

The menu shows the case types first, so visitors find theirs in one or two taps.

Checked on phones before launch

Every template is reviewed on phones and tablets before the site goes live.

Family law and criminal defense, San Diego, California

Two practices under one roof, with clients who arrive in very different states of mind. The site separates the two paths from the first screen, so each visitor reaches the practice that matches their problem, and the phone number stays in view the whole way down.

Accident and injury work in a county where every competitor looks alike in the results. The site leads with the case review and gives each injury type its own page, so the traffic that arrives has somewhere specific to go instead of a generic services list.

Websites for every practice area we serve.

A criminal defense visitor at two in the morning and an estate planning client comparing firms over a week need different pages. The structure, the calls to action and the tone are set per practice area, not copied across the site.

From first call to launch

How a new site gets built.

Five stages, each one approved by you before the next begins. Nothing goes live until it has been checked on the devices your clients actually use.

We go through your current site, your analytics and the firms ranking above you, and list what to keep, what to fix and what is missing. If your site can be improved instead of rebuilt, we tell you.

A sitemap of every page the site needs: each practice area, each city you serve, the attorney bios and the pages people read before they call. You approve it before any design starts.

Mobile first layouts for the pages that bring consultations, in your firm’s identity, reviewed with you screen by screen.

The site is built lean, the content is placed and every old address is redirected to its new page, so what the old site earned in search is carried over.

Speed, structured data, forms and click to call are checked on real devices before the site goes live, and search engines receive the new sitemap.

The Expert SEO has become a core asset to our business success. Their considered approach has bore quantifiable results. Our website is greatly improved. Our traffic has increased dramatically. Now we are engaging them to assist us in attracting more AI based searches. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the top notch service from our client success manager, Nicole. She provides great client services and keeps busy small business people on track.

Sarah Whitmore Sarah Whitmore Verified by Trustpilot

We had worked with other marketing companies before, but this was the first time we actually understood what was being done and why. The communication and transparency have been excellent.

We’ve been working with The Expert SEO for over a year, and the experience has been great so far! Before hiring them, our online presence wasn’t generating enough leads or the right quality of leads.

They helped us with website design, PPC, and organic and local SEO growth. We saw an immediate bump in website traffic early on, and since then the growth has been steady and consistent.

The increased online visibility has brought us more qualified leads and improved the overall performance of our marketing efforts. The team is responsive, transparent, and data-driven, which we really appreciate.

I would recommend The Expert SEO to business owners looking for a reliable digital marketing agency focused on long-term growth.

Robert Mitchell Robert Mitchell Verified by Trustpilot

We’re competing in a very difficult market, and they never promised overnight results. They built a strategy, executed consistently, and our visibility and consultations have continued to grow.

David Anderson David Anderson Verified by Trustpilot

We came to the team after working with another SEO company that wasn’t delivering the quality of leads we needed. Within months, we started seeing stronger visibility across our key practice areas and, more importantly, better inquiries. The communication has been excellent, and we finally feel like our marketing has a clear direction.

Elizabeth Warren Elizabeth Warren Verified by Trustpilot

What stood out from the beginning was how much time they spent understanding our firm before recommending anything. They looked at our market, competitors, practice areas, website, and the types of clients we actually wanted to attract. Instead of chasing traffic or rankings that don’t translate into business, the strategy has always been centered around qualified opportunities. Our organic presence has grown, we’re showing up for more valuable searches, and we’re receiving better consultations through the website. Just as important, the team is responsive, transparent, and always willing to explain what they’re doing and why. It feels much more like having a marketing partner than simply hiring another SEO agency.

Roger Aguiar, founder of The Expert SEO

Why do law firms trust us with their website?

Roger Aguiar has spent more than seven years in search, long enough to see what happens when a beautiful site launches without a plan for traffic: very little. The sites we build start from the searches your clients make and the pages that turn those searches into calls, because the same team is responsible for bringing the visitors in.

Questions firms ask before a new site.

Including the one about rankings that every firm worries about during a redesign.

What makes a law firm website convert?

Speed, clarity and reach. The page loads fast on a phone, the headline matches what the person searched, the phone number and the consultation form are always within reach, and proof such as reviews and credentials sits next to the decision. Design matters, but in service of those four things.

Do I need a new website, or can you fix the one I have?

Not every firm needs a rebuild. We review your current site first, and if its structure, speed and platform can hold up, improving it is the better investment. If they cannot, we explain what a rebuild would change before you decide.

Will a new website hurt my Google rankings?

A careless redesign can, because old pages disappear and the links pointing to them break. We map every existing address to its new page with permanent redirects and keep the content that already ranks, so what the old site earned is carried over. No one can promise rankings, but a migration handled this way protects them.

Will the site work on phones?

It is designed for the phone first and then scaled up to larger screens. Click to call, short forms and readable text are part of the layout from the start, and pages are built to load quickly on a mobile connection.

Is the website built for SEO?

Yes. Every site includes the technical SEO foundation: clean URLs, a page for each practice area, structured data, an XML sitemap, internal linking and attention to Core Web Vitals. It is the same groundwork our law firm SEO team relies on, so the site is ready to rank before the first article is written.

Who owns the website?

You do. The website, the content and the accounts belong to your firm from the first day.

Can the website help my firm show up in AI search?

The structure that helps Google, with a clear page per practice area, plain answers and structured data describing your firm, is also what AI assistants read when they decide which firm to mention. Deeper work on AI visibility is part of our AI search optimization for law firms.
